Duke is out of ACC tournament after COVID-19 positive test

Due to a positive COVID-19 test, Duke is out of the ACC tournament. The Blue Devils were scheduled to play Florida State in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Duke announced late Thursday morning that a member of the program's Tier 1 personnel tested positive after Wednesday's game. The Blue Devils beat Louisville on Wednesday.

SAD NEWS: We will not continue competing in the 2021 ACC Tournament due to our school’s and conference’s health/safety protocols. The determination was made following the positive COVID-19 test for a member of our program’s Tier 1 personnel after Wednesday’s game.

Final: No. 6 seed North Carolina 101, No. 11 seed Notre Dame 59

North Carolina blitzed Notre Dame in the second round of the ACC tournament 101-59, behind a 50-percent shooting effort and double-doubles from Armando Bacot (20 points, 13 rebounds), Day'ron Sharpe (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Walker Kessler (16 points, 12 rebounds) as the Tar Heels out-rebounded the Fighting Irish 54-31, including 24 offensive rebounds.

Next, North Carolina will face No. 3 seed Virginia Tech at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 11 in the ACC tournament quarterfinals.

Final: No. 10 seed Duke 70, No. 7 seed Louisville 56

Led by freshman center Mark Williams, No. 10 seed Duke advanced to the ACC tournament quarterfinals with a 70-56 win over No. 7 seed Louisville on Wednesday night. Williams had 23 points and 19 rebounds, leading all players in both statistical categories. Duke led by one at halftime, 30-29, but pulled away in the second half behind a 40-point half.

Next up for Duke is a matchup against No. 2 seed Florida State at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 11.

Meanwhile, Louisville will enter Selection Sunday with a 13-7 record.
